Arrows to AerospaceArrow to Aerospace Parade
Saturday, August 21st

The Bellevue ARC has been asked to provide amateur radio operators to support the Bellevue Police Department during the 2010 Arrows to Aerospace Parade. We will man street corners along the route to assist with traffic control (ensuring vehicles don't drive through the parade or over spectators) and general public safety, such as lost child reports, children running between or to the parade vehicles, etc.

More information about the parade, setup and scheduling is available here.  For more info or to volunteer, contact Wayne KE6DZD at a2a-2010@bellevuearc.org.

Make-A-Wish Ride
Saturday, September 26th

Make-A-WishThe Bellevue Amateur Radio Club will be sponsoring the communications support for the 2010 Make-A-Wish Bike Ride in Percival, Iowa.  Club members have supported this ride for several years now and we need several volunteers to cover the route.

You can volunteer your time and resources for the entire day, or even just for a few hours. We can find a place for you to work. Those of you who have helped in past years know how rewarding and how much fun it is to support the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the bicyclists. They depend upon us heavily for the safety, health, and welfare of all involved in the events.

Bike ride supportAmateur Radio operators are needed to staff water stops, SAG vehicles, bike repair vehicles, medical support vehicles, and last rider vehicles on the route. Specific duties for each will be provided at a later date. Non-amateurs with EMT training are also encouraged to volunteer, as we can pair them with amateur radio operators to patrol the route to keep an eye on everyone.

George Bellairs KBØZZT is the event coordinator for communications.  Please contact him at wish2010@bellevuearc.org to volunteer or for more information.
